Third track to help traffic problems

From the Maitland Mercury report:
A third train track through Maitland to expedite the delivery of coal to the Port of Newcastle will also revolutionise the road network. Rail bridges are proposed to replace level crossings at Lochinvar and Belford, with a replacement bridge at Greta as part of the Maitland to Third Track Project on the Main Northern Railway.  Construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2010, with a target completion date by the end of that year.

Maitland City Council gave its approval last month to the demolition of the historic Old North Road rail bridge at Lochinvar to make way for the third track.
