HMAS Parramatta ships exhibition

HMAS Parramatta ships have served Australia since the establishment of the Royal Australian Navy into the present time. This exhibition depicts the four ships that have borne that name, beginning with HMAS Parramatta I, the first ship in the Royal Australian Navy though to the present ship, HMAS Parramatta IV, which currently is on duty overseas. Scale models of three of the ships are in the exhibition, as well as other related memorabilia.

The sinking of HMAS Parramatta II off Libya in 1941 gives a stark reminder of world conflicts, especially through a graphic story of one of the survivors and his rescuer.
