From the Maitland Mercury report:The stories of the 150 convict men and boys who lived and worked at Tocal Homestead during the early 1800s are to be brought to life in a guided tour of the historic site.
As part of History Week 2009, convict historian Brian Walsh will conduct a tour of the site and reveal the heartbreaks and hopes, exploits and punishments of the convicts as they struggled for freedom.
The Voices from Tocal - Convict Life on a Rural Estate tour will be held on September 12 and 13 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm at Tocal Homestead.
