John O’Rourke and Kevin Little reminisced about the repair of the historic 3801 locomotive yesterday when they were reunited with the loco’s tender after 20 years at Hunter-V-Tech yesterday.
Mr O’Rourke and Mr Little were two of five supervisors who trained more than 350 apprentices and assisted them to restore the loco and its tender in Newcastle between 1983 and 1986.
